Recently I made these hats for men in family.Very easy to make and within few hours it was finished.Quite favorite in house.Just grab one and go.Here I am sharing the pattern for this hat.
Skill level - Advanced beginner
Materials - worsted weight yarn (120 to 140m)
Hook - size G(9/3.5mm)
Size - length - 8"
circumference - 20"
US Terminology used.
Special stitch
FPDC (Front Post Double Crochet): Yarn over, insert hook from right to left behind post of stitch from previous round. Yarn over, pull loop from behind post (3 loops remain on hook). Yarn over, pull through two loops (2 loops on hook). Yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.
Gauge
First
2 Rows in Pattern = 3 Inches in Diameter.
Pattern
Make a ring of 6ch,3ch (count as a dc through out)
Rnd 1 - 15dc in ring,sl st in 3rd ch of beg 3ch. (16dc)
Rnd 2 - 3ch,2dc in each st till end,1dc in last st,sl st in 3rd ch of beg 3ch. (32dc)
Rnd 3 - 3ch,dc in each st across,sl st in 3rd ch of beg 3ch.
Rnd 4 - 3ch,*1dc in next st,1dc in next st,1fpdc in same st*,repeat * * till end,sl st in 3rd ch of beg 3ch.
Rnd 5 - 3ch,*1dc in next 2sts,1dc in next st,1fpdc in same st*,repeat * * till end,sl st in 3rd ch of beg 3ch.
Rnd 6 to 15 - 3ch,*1dc in next 3st,1dc in next st,1fpdc in same st*,repeat * * till end,sl st in 3rd ch of beg 3ch.
( Increase or decrease rows from Rnd 6 to Rnd 15 to get your desired length)
Brim
Rnd 16 to 18 - 2ch,sc in back loop of each st across,sl st in 2nd ch of beg 2ch. Fasten off.

How do you decrease?
ReplyDeleteIf you're decreasing DC, Yarn over, pull through 2 loops yarn over put your hook in next DC Yarn over, pull 2 loops through and pull through 2 again. I hope this helps!
